Valencia’s Mediterranean Equestrian Tour dates

The Horse of Valencia was the venue for the presentation of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour 2012 (MET), the new circuit of international competitions for Jumping to be held in Spain, particularly from 14 February to 11 March on the premises of Oliva Nova Equestrian Centre, located at the Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort.

It will include four CSI2 * competitive events. From Tuesday to Thursday will be primarily for young horses (5-7 years), the rest will run from Friday to Sunday, with a distinction between professional competitions (Diamond) and amateur (Premium), each with three categories. All competitions will count towards Rolex rankings.

Organizers reported that €450,000 will be distributed in prizes and expect the participation of 700 horses and 300 riders from 29 countries and five continents. Barreras(CEO) said that there is even a waiting list of riders who want to participate in this event from the Mediterranean and that this year they may not be able to compete.

MET facilities, with 14 hectares, will have a total of three sand arenas, with an area of ​​30.000 square metres, 700 boxes for the accommodation of horses and a commercial village. It is located next to the AP-7 and near the airports of Valencia and Alicante. Organizers estimate attendance of 45,000 visitors during the four weeks (1,500 daily).
