Dream start for Steve Guerdat as he wins the Rolex Grand Prix. The 30-year-old Swiss rider, riding the 11 year old grey SF mare, NASA(Cumano x Prince d'Elle) were the only combination to jump double clear in the Rolex Grand Prix. The French ex-European champion Kevin Staut with Silvana was second and Malin Baryard-Johnsson of Sweden with Reveur de Hurtebise was third.
Since 2007, Guerdat has been based in Herrliberg, Switzerland. He has already won with his potential Olympic horse Nasa his second Grand Prix after his triumph at the CSI Geneva.
Guerdat expressed that in his success, which earned him 49,500 francs, including happiness. He has only ridden the eleven year old grey horse four times since last November, usually around a course.
All of the six riders through to the jump-off failed to jump clear in the jump-off. Especially the second obstacle, which was extremely delicate. The course was technically challenging, the triple combination, and especially tricky distance from the oxer in front.
