Mediterranean Equestrian Tour (MET) 2012 kicks off in Oliva.

It runs from the 14th of February to 11th March 2012 (Tuesday to Sunday each week) on the premises of Oliva Nova Equestrian Centre. It will include four CSI2* competitive events. Tuesday to Thursday will be primarily for young horses (5-7 years), the rest will run from Friday to Sunday, with a distinction between professional competitions (Diamond) and amateur (Premium), each with three categories. All competitions will count towards Rolex rankings.

Organizers reported that €450,000 will be distributed in prizes and expect the participation of 700 horses and 300 riders from 29 countries and five continents. Barreras(CEO) said that there is even a waiting list of riders who want to participate in this event from the Mediterranean and that this year they may not be able to compete.
