Marcus Ehning of Germany is the new rider of Copin van de Broy(2002, X Darco XX Brownboy).

The new owner has not been disclosed but the FEI have been informed of new ownership as of 31/12/2011. Copin van de Broy was previously ridden by Gregory Wathelet of Belgium. He won the world cup qualifier in Mechelen on the 30/12/2011 with this horse. Some other noted wins for this horse are: 4th Grand Prix of Liège November 2011, 4th CSIO NC Rotterdam 2011 and 3rd CSIO NC Dublin 2011. He also won Sires of the world in 2010.

This is a hard blow for Wathelet as there was only one day before the deadline, for Wathelet and his Olympic hopeful.

Even through negogiations with the Belgium team Chef d'Equipe, he still went on to the stables of Ehning the morning after Wathelet had won the world cup qualifier.
