Achaz von Buchwaldt (GER) on Athene V

The ex-Danish team coach Achaz von Buchwaldt is now the trainer of Pius Schwizer.

Achaz von Buchwaldt was a member of  German national team for 25 years. He was at the DOKR (Deutschen Olympiakomitee) in Warendorf from 1967 to 1970, where he rode for trainers like Hans-Heinrich Brinckmann and Hans Günter Winkler.

He was second in the German Championships in 1983 on Wendy, and again second in 1991 on Alexa. The absolute highlights of his career in the saddle was two great victories in the Hamburg Derby; in 1982 on Wendy and in 1996 on Lausbub.

Since 2005 Achaz von Buchwaldt was the successful chef d’equipe for Denmark. He  managed to take the Danish team right up to the 2011 Super league.
